Rape Ceremony Ancestral Retreats

We call it a Yoga Teacher Training. And yes, you will learn how to teach, and you will leave with a certificate. But almost nobody comes here for the paperwork. They come because something in their life is asking to change. What happens over these weeks is quieter than a curriculum: you find your voice, you stop apologising for taking up space, and you begin to trust what you already know. We hold the room, the guidance, and the craft for whatever comes next. We hand you every tool we have. What you build with them is yours.

Something happens in the first few days that we still don’t have a good word for. People arrive as strangers, carrying whatever they carried onto the plane. And then somewhere between the morning practice and the fire where we sing together, it stops feeling like just another event. It starts feeling like a home where everyone belongs, where everyone is a meaningful part of the whole.

Nobody needs to perform. Nobody is graded on how deep their forward fold goes. We create the space to simply be who you are.

Over the years, more than 500 people across six continents, in their twenties and in their sixties, from wildly different lives and languages, have gathered in this community. They met as strangers and stayed friends. They visit each other. They come back.

Yoga Ayahuasca Retreat

January 10–16, 2027

(7 Days)

Limited Spots Available

We hold one Ayahuasca retreat in 2027, on a private beach at the foot of the Sierra Nevada — the mountains the Kogi call the heart of the world. The ceremonies are guided by Taita Salvador, an elder of the Kamëntsá Nation from the Colombian Amazon, and held within the yoga, breathwork and quiet we teach year-round. Two ceremonies, from nightfall until morning. A doctor is present throughout. Six nights, a maximum of fifteen guests, and days deliberately left unhurried. We won’t promise you a new life — but a week away from everything familiar, with people who have done this many times beside you.

A Gentle Silent Retreat

January 20–25, 2027

(5 Days)

Step away from the noise and return to the quiet wisdom within. Our 5-night Silent Meditation & Yoga Retreat in Palomino, Colombia invites you into three full days of silence, digital detox, gentle yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic practice, nourishing plant-based meals, and spacious time in nature. Held at a private beachfront sanctuary between the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Nevada mountains, this intimate retreat offers a soft and supportive space to regulate your nervous system, integrate life’s deeper experiences, and reconnect with clarity, presence, and yourself.

A Place that Feels like Home

Some people come to us to become teachers. Others come because something in their life has shifted and they need a place to put it down for a while. We hold both the same way.

What people tell us afterwards is rarely about the curriculum. They talk about the person who sat with them on a hard evening. The kitchen conversations. Singing badly together and nobody minding. Years later they are still in each other’s lives. We keep our groups small on purpose — never more than sixteen — because what forms between twelve or fourteen people over a few weeks cannot be manufactured in a bigger room.

And we stay reachable throughout. From your first message, long before you have decided anything, through the weeks here, and for as long afterwards as you want us. Not a support ticket. Instead People who answer their own messages and genuinely want to know how your first class went and how you feel.

Why We Chose Colombia

We could have built this anywhere. We chose Colombia because the land here still holds something — untouched nature, living ancestral traditions, and a quality of presence that is hard to find in places that have been optimized for visitors. Our locations are deliberately remote and deliberately not on the retreat circuit: a sacred lake in the Andes, a private beach at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, a mango forest sanctuary outside Bogotá.

On safety — we know this is the question behind the question. We handle everything: airport pickup, transfers, secure and carefully chosen venues from the moment you land until the moment you fly home. In years of running trainings here, we have never had an incident. You focus on why you came. We handle the rest.

What People Say Afterwards

I feel so lucky to have chosen Ancestral academy to complete my 200hr YTT. I can’t say enough good things about this program. Each instructor brought such a unique and vast array of knowledge and the way they organized the community of women I got to learn with and from couldn’t have been more perfect. I learned so much about vulnerability, community, service, gratitude and of course yoga and what it really means to practice yoga in every moment. Absolutely amazing program and so beyond grateful for this life changing experience.

Jenessa

Magical. Pure & True. Transformative. Like a big long hug from both the human and the divine. I attended both the Ayahuasca Retreat and Yoga Teaching Training of Ancestral beginning of this year, as part of my sabbatical. Marco and Caro – and everyone else in the team – create such an incredible journey for all participants with their dedication, skill and love. Very complete, incredibly rich, while staying true to the essence of yoga and plant medicine in its purest form. I’ve had many plant medicine and yoga experiences, but this deep and carefully supported dive in gorgeous natural surroundings is unsurpassed for me. The sense of community and family is still tangible – I can always return here. Both the retreat and training were unforgettable life experiences for me. Looking back, I’m so grateful that I chose this – for me. If your heart calls you to either one (or both), do answer it – for you.

Mick

Caro and Marco created a truly beautiful space for healing, self-discovery, and deep transformation. Throughout the training, they shared so many valuable tools and teachings that continue to support me on my personal journey and as a yoga teacher.

Marina

Ancestral Academy’s yoga teacher training hosted at Brees in Santa Veronica was a phenomenal experience! Professionally, thoughtfully, kindly, and holistically curated from beginning to end (and beyond), Carolina and Marco are wonderful leaders in the yoga teacher training space. If you are someone who will show up for yourself and for those around you, I wholeheartedly recommend Ancestral Academy.

Laurel

I wholeheartedly recommend the 200RYT yoga retreat by Ancestral Academy — An absolutely amazing experience that touched every aspect of my being. From the physical body to the mind and, most importantly, the spirit, this retreat left an indelible mark that continues to resonate within me. Reflecting on my time at the retreat, I am filled with profound gratitude for the enriching experiences and the deep connections forged with fellow participants and teachers.
