Last year I joined Caro and Marco for a 50hr Kundalini, Tantra and Bhakti Yoga TT in Portugal. It was such a lovely and profound experience. Eventhough the training was just a week long many of the valuable teachings resonated deeply and had a strong influence on my path the following month, guiding me to wonderful places.
Caro and Marco and Aimee are all wonderfully authentic and knowledgable teachers who embody different qualities of wisdom and have the ability of transfering their knowledge and experience in such a profound way that it really hits you.
When I arrived at the training quite some participants had trained with ancestral before and I completely understand why they came back for more :-) And eventhough I did not know anybody beforehand I felt very warmly welcomed right from the start and had the feeling that I belonged. There was so much love in every detail of the training from the teachings to the accomodation, the food, the vibe, the ceremonies and the group itself. And even now a year later there is still the opportunity to ask questions when they arise and stay connected through inner circle whatsapp groups.

Ancestral is more than just a yoga retreat. It gives you the feeling of being part of a wider community, where you can plant your seed, grow with it, and return over the years to reconnect with yourself and your process.

I participated in the 200h Yoga Teacher Training in Portugal in 2024, and it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life.

Caro and Marco created a truly beautiful space for healing, self-discovery, and deep transformation. Throughout the training, they shared so many valuable tools and teachings that continue to support me on my personal journey and as a yoga teacher.

More recently, I also joined Marco’s Harmonium Course, and once again I experienced the same level of care, presence, and dedication. It is clear that everything they create comes from the heart, with a lot of intention and love.

I highly recommend their trainings to anyone, no matter where you are on your path. You will be welcomed with kindness, compassion, and support, while receiving meaningful tools to continue growing and exploring your journey.

This training has been such a special experience for me. I left with so much more than I ever expected.

Caro and Marco created a space where I felt saif, supported and encouraged to grow at my own pace. Their way of sharing yoga goes far beyond the physical practice on the mat it deeply rooted in connection.

I can not express in words the impact of the retreat I took with ancestral. The beachfront location in Santa Marta was pristine and the accommodation felt luxurious in the middle of the jungle. The retreat itself was a life exchanging experience. I'm still processing the messages I received with plant medicine months after the retreat. And I'm still in touch with the wonderful people I met through the program, which I've never had with any other retreat I've ever taken. I attended the Feb 26 200h YTT training with Ancestral at magical lake Chivor. The way Caro and Marco have designed the program breaths their love, devotion, and wisdom of the path of yoga with ancient practices and traditions. To me this was not just a yoga training, but a school of life - loving those philosophy classes! What makes this training unique is the community feeling that Marco and Caro are building which you can feel comes from their heart. This allowed us to connect to ourselves and one another, open up and deepen our experience. Together with all the beautiful ceremonies and rituals which were carefully guided.
I truly feel this is a holistic program which gently guides you out of your comfort zone.

And ofcourse the location at lake Chivor with the warmth & food of Marta and her team felt like a heavenly home.

In February 2026, I attended Ancestral Retreats’ 200-hour YTT at Lake Chivor, Colombia. Even though I had carefully chosen this training, I could never have expected how enriching the experience would be. Caro and Marco are incredibly special teachers with such beautiful energy. They lead with care and by example, and through every detail of the training their wisdom, love, and devotion were palpable. The training itself is very thoughtful and well-structured. The daily rituals and ceremonies felt like a gift again and again. The program truly invited us to delve deeper within ourselves while also connecting with each other and building a sense of community. All of the (guest) teachers brought valuable knowledge and unique perspectives, from which I learned so much. The Ancestral team and the team at Lake Chivor quickly made me quickly feel at home, and I will forever cherish this unforgettable experience. And I cannot finish this review without mentioning the amazing food we were served every day; nourishing, delicious, and clearly prepared with so much love.

This training offered everything I had hoped for in a holistic program - and more. If you are considering this training, I wholeheartedly recommend giving yourself this beautiful experience.
