There are times in life where we’re fortunate to find ourselves in the right place at the right time—I’ve always called these “pinch me” moments because they seem too surreal for words, and the yoga teacher training with the team at Ancestral Academy was 27 days of such magic. After our first steps into the beautiful space we would call home, I was overwhelmed by the detail and consideration put into everything. From notes in our rooms and welcome gifts to vulnerable conversations, tears, and endless laughter, the community cultivated by Carolina, Marco, and Jorge was unlike any I could have imagined. It was four weeks of growth that changed me, how I understand myself, and how I hope to move through this next chapter of my journey. While yoga is a practice I’ve always enjoyed, they taught us the holistic benefits it can bring to every aspect of our lives. If you’re considering this training, please go. The beauty of the staff, environment, and new relationships you’ll find with this group is priceless! And the food. My goodness, the food. Thank you for everything 🙂

The month I spent at Lake Chivor with Ancestral Academy was so transformative and went beyond any expectations I had for a yoga teacher training. Carolina Jorge and Marco are all so incredibly knowledgable, passionate, and wise. They come together from different angles to create a beautiful and comprehensive course, giving a truly holistic and well rounded programme. They built up our confidence leading and teaching from the first week which gave us so much experience! On top of the knowledge they will give you, the love and support you feel from each of them is so authentic, they create such a safe and sacred space for each individual to not only learn about yoga but to learn and heal themselves. I cannot recommend this training enough, everything is so well considered and balanced to cover all aspects of yoga while making time to create beautiful ceremonies and experiences. They really care and you can feel that in everything they do. Also the food location and accommodation is all amazing - the chivorkite kitchen team are so kind and beautiful.

I attended an Ancestral Retreat in April 2024 in Colombia. So much love and attention went into this retreat. Jorge, Marco & Carolina selected the most perfect venue. What to say except PERFECTION! My spouse and I were looking for a moment where we could abandon ourselves, turn everything off and do some inner work. We found much more than we were expecting. Such a rich learning experience, safe and filled with beautiful surprises. I hope to make this experience a yearly event which will allow me completely let go and trust that Carolina, Marco and Jorge are guiding me to connect with myself. Much gratitude for this unique experience. Love!!!! Note: we have just finished our 2nd retreat with the Ancestral team and it's amazing to see how they continue to go above and beyond to make every little detail count. The 200HR yoga teacher training at Chivorkite, Lake Chivor was one of the most transformative months of my life. Carolina, Jorge and Marco are an incredible team: professional, wise, incredibly caring and open. The calibre of training went above and beyond a typical 200HR course. I learned about yoga but also learned so much about myself and the world. All thanks to the empowering and safe environment that Carolina Jorge and Marco cultivate. Ancestral academy was an amazing experience. I cannot think of how a yoga training could be better. The teachers were so experienced and varied in their practice and classes, so we had a very holistic experience - spanning hatha, kundalini, vinyasa, philosophy, history, anatomy, asana labs and so much more. Also the food was incredible - so nourishing and nutritious - with the most amazing kitchen staff who we became great friends with. I am so so so pleased I had this experience, and I have taken so much away from it. It is well worth the money.

I had the privilege of spending one month with the incredible Ancestral Academy team (Carolina, Jorge and Marco) for a 200hr yoga teacher training in Colombia at Lake Chivor. I could not recommend the training and the team more highly. The design of the course and the way the three instructors complemented each other was perfection. It was totally worth making the trip from New Zealand!
