What Sets Us Apart
Yoga in all its dimensions
We believe yoga is more than physical practice. Our training integrates Himalayan Kriya Yoga with pranayama, mantra, and ritual, Kundalini, Bhakti and meditation practices from classic Tantra, offering a path that is both technically grounded and spiritually alive. This is a space where practice becomes prayer, and every moment becomes part of the journey.
Inner Purpose & Nervous System Healing
This training offers more than a certification. It is a space to slow down, regulate the nervous system, release stress, and reconnect with what truly matters. Through breath, movement, ritual, self-inquiry, and community, you are invited to find deeper meaning, emotional clarity, and a healthier relationship with your body, mind, and heart. It is a sacred pause from daily life, a journey into spiritual depth, inner healing, and renewed purpose.
Ancestral Ceremonies
Engage in profound rituals like Rapé, and Cacao ceremonies. Rapé, a sacred tobacco-based practice, helps ground your energy and clear mental blocks, while the Cacao ceremony fosters heart-opening connection and self-awareness.

Carolina is originally from Colombia, a land of vibrant beauty, deep contrasts, and ancestral wisdom that continues to shape both her path and her work. Her journey has been further deepened through years of study in Southeast Asia and India, where she trained in holistic healing and immersed herself in ancient traditions of consciousness, ritual, and transformation.
A Yoga Alliance certified teacher (E-RYT 500) with over 1,000 hours of training, Carolina specializes in Himalayan Kriya Yoga, advanced pranayama, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Ayurveda-inspired living, sacred rituals, and ancestral ceremonies. She is also trained in Reiki and energy healing, integrating subtle body practices that support profound inner transformation, presence, and reconnection.
Her teaching bridges devotion and discipline, mysticism and embodiment, creating spaces where yoga is not only practiced, but deeply lived. With a deep reverence for ritual, the elements, and the subtle dimensions of practice, she invites students into a path of healing, remembrance, and inner awakening.
Through retreats, trainings, and ceremonial experiences, Carolina guides those who seek depth, transformation, and a more integrated experience of yoga and holistic healing. Her work is guided by devotion, warmth, and deep listening, offering practices that nourish the body, awaken the heart, and reconnect people to their own inner wisdom.
Marco is a graduate philosopher, passionate musician, and experienced German journalist. After completing his first Yoga Teacher Training in India, he immediately began teaching at the Berlin-based school “Yoga on the Move.” Marco is the Co-founder of Ancestral Retreats & Academy.
As a Yoga Alliance-certified teacher (E-RYT 500) specializing in Hatha Kundalini and Vinyasa yoga, he has completed four training programs in India, Italy, and Colombia, accumulating over 1,000 hours of training. In his yoga classes, every movement is synchronized with the breath, guiding students into a deep-flow meditation or helping them find steadiness and ease in each posture. His teaching aims to motivate beginners, challenge advanced practitioners with postures and powerful breathing techniques, and enrich every session with the timeless wisdom of yoga.
With a passion for philosophy, he designs his courses as holistic journeys for the body, mind, and soul. As an experienced musician, he enhances the experience by sharing mantras and medicine music through vocals, guitar, and harmonium.
Aimee
RYT200 Yoga Teacher &
meditation teacher
Before shifting her focus to teaching yoga and meditation, Aimee spent over a decade as a behavioral scientist focused on wellbeing, and holds a PhD from Duke University and a Master’s in Psychology. She now writes about psychological healing and the spiritual path and supports others in integrating transformative experiences, including grief and loss.
Aimee has studied widely across spiritual traditions and is a dedicated practitioner of bhakti yoga, Classical Tantra, and extended periods of silent meditation. A Yoga Alliance certified teacher (RYT 200), she bridges psychological healing and spiritual practice through gentle embodiment and meditative practices, working with movement, breath, voice, and inner experience to support emotional processing, integration, and deeper awareness.
Grounded especially in nondual Śaiva Tantra, her approach emphasizes recognition: learning to meet all experience as an expression of the sacred. She also shares mantra, harmonium, and devotional singing as practices of connection, prayer, and opening the heart. Aimee is known for her calming presence and the quality of spaciousness she brings to her classes, where all experience is welcomed and students feel genuinely safe and held. Her deepest aspiration is to help others see the truth she has found in her own journey: that love and wholeness are already within.

As a tourist from Europe, the USA or Canada you do not need a regular visa (please check the countries in the list below, if you need an official visa). Tourists can easily stay in the country for 90 days. Please note that the ‘migration form’ is not a visa – Every traveler must fill out this form. Is it safe to solo travel in Colombia – especially as a woman?
For our retreats and yoga trainings, we organize your travel to the venue directly from the airport so that it is smooth and safe. It is in general safe to travel in Colombia as a woman if you are careful not to go outside the tourist areas. However, this also applies to men. The city centers and tourist destinations like Palomino, Park Tayrona or Minca are secured by the police. At night you should not walk alone through the streets of bigger cities away from the center, but always take an official registered yellow taxi. We advise against traveling to the border regions of Colombia without a guide. We already had many female solo travellers in our retreats and training that had no issues at all. But please ask us, if you have concerns or more questions.
What is the group size at the Training?
We want to keep the experience as personal as possible. That’s why our groups are no larger than 16 people. The average group size is 12 people.
What if there is an emergency?
The facilitators and venue staff will be taking care of all of your needs, including your safety and wellbeing, during the retreat. In addition, we will provide an emergency contact number for your loved ones in the event they need to reach you during the period of silence.
When do I have to pay the full amount for the event?
To make a reservation for a room or a bungalow, all you have to do is pay a deposit via Credit Card or bank transfer. We usually ask for 400 € (or equal to USD). Afterwards your place is secured. We will then send you a confirmation letter and all the other information you need to prepare for your retreat. The remaining balance has to be paid via Bank Transfer two weeks before a retreat starts. If agreed with the Ancstral Retreats team you can pay also in cash on the day of the arrival. Please note that we accept cash in Euros (€), USD ($) or Pesos (COP) only. USD and COP are based on the exchange rate against the Euro, Ancestral Retreats defines beforehand. We will send you all the information and reminders in good time.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We prefer a bank transfer. If that’s not an option for you, you can also pay with a credit card link, but please consider that we have to add a fee of 3,5 % on top. We also accept cash. Cash can be paid on the day of arrival. But to make a reservation first you need to pay 400 Euros with a transfer to safe your spot. We also accept Bitcoin. Please contact us directly via email in this case. You will always recieve for any payment method a confirmation from us.
What are the cancellation terms?
Our terms and conditions you find here.
Should I be worried about Malaria?
No. Of course there is a light risk during the rainy season, but we never heard about a case in the last year. We do not recommend taking anti-malarial medication when drinking ayahuasca, as it has been known to cause complications. In the end it is your decision.
Do I have to participate in all ceremonies?
We ask all participants to approach the ceremonies with openness — they are an integral part of the training, not extras. That said, no one is ever forced to participate. If something feels genuinely wrong for you physically or medically, we will always find a respectful solution together. What we do ask is that you come with a willingness to explore beyond your comfort zone.
